BAD OR INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES

  • Within the 2 hr timeframe preceding a travel game, the only person who can call a game is the Referee.  Regardless of the weather conditions, your team must be dressed in uniform and ready to play at the field, ½ hr prior to game time.  This applies to all league, Waldbaumʼs Cup and State Cup games.
  • The home clubʼs field coordinator (SSC-Kris DeBenedittis) can shut down our field(s) if they are deemed unplayable, as long as it is more than 2 hrs prior to the scheduled game time.  This is a league rule (LIJSL), which applies to all clubs.  If we do NOT hear from the field coordinator, we are to assume that our home game is still on.
  • Should we shut down the Syosset fields, We will notify the team administrator.  The team administrator must immediately notify the referee, the division supervisor (coordinator, if the supervisor is unavailable) and the visiting teamʼs coach.  Of course, we should notify our teamʼs professional coach and players as well.
  • If we are the visiting team, keep in mind that this is the same procedure that the home team coach must be follow.  The timeframe is critical.  Once home team coach notifies us that your game is off, we must verify this with your division supervisor (coordinator, if the supervisor is unavailable).
