BAD OR INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES
- Within the 2 hr timeframe preceding a travel game, the only person who can call a game is the Referee. Regardless of the weather conditions, your team must be dressed in uniform and ready to play at the field, ½ hr prior to game time. This applies to all league, Waldbaum's Cup and State Cup games.
- The home club’s field coordinator (SSC-Kris DeBenedittis) can shut down our field(s) if they are deemed unplayable, as long as it is more than 2 hrs prior to the scheduled game time. This is a league rule (LIJSL), which applies to all clubs. If you do NOT hear from the field coordinator, you are to assume that your home game is still on.
- Should I shut down the Syosset fields, I will notify the team administrator. The team administrator must immediately notify the referee, the division supervisor (coordinator, if the supervisor is unavailable) and the visiting team’s coach. Of course, you should notify your team’s professional coach and players as well.
- If you are the visiting team, keep in mind that this is the same procedure that the home team coach must be follow. The timeframe is critical. Once home team coach notifies you that your game is off, you must verify this with your division supervisor (coordinator, if the supervisor is unavailable).
