April 2010

Dear Syosset Soccer Club Referees:

My name is Michael Finkelstein and I am the Commissioner of Referee’s. I hope you all have had a great winter and are, as am I, looking forward to the second half of the season.

Like in the fall, a schedule will be created each week assigning games for the upcoming weekend. This will give all Referees’ sufficient notice so that every opportunity will be made to insure that each game will be covered. The failure to appear at a scheduled game will not be tolerated and will jeopardize your future duties with the club. This schedule will be emailed each week to your individual addresses. When you register please make sure that the email address that is provided is not blocked or parent protected.

Please go to our main registration site and log in to your family account to register as a referee. If you don't have a family account, then you can create one from the registration site. You can access the site from this link - http://www.sportssignup.com/Syosset-Soccer-Club-Online-Registration.start.

Once you're registered with the club as a referee, it will take 24 to 48 hours for your application to be reviewed and approved. You should then receive an email from "assignr.com" asking you to click on the link, provided in the email, to verify your new referee account. The referee administration site is http://syossetsoccer.assignr.com/login.

When you log in to your referee account you will be able to update the calandar to let us know when you are available. Please note which days and times that you are available to referee and PLEASE BE VERY SPECIFIC. This MUST be done in order to be considered eligible to ref, otherwise the system defaults to "Not Available".

It is your responsibility to make sure that all of your information is up-to-date and correct, as well as your dates and times of availability are enteredand correctly. Regardless of your past experience with the Syosset Soccer Club, you will NOT be contacted to referee if you have not completed this process.

****NEW REFEREES SEE BELOW****

If you have never refereed before or just started last fall, there will be a mandatory Referees Course given on Thursday, April 8th 2010 from 7:30-8:45 pm at St. Edwards the Confessor School, on Jackson Ave. in the cafeteria located in the basement of the school. IF YOU WANT TO REF YOU MUST ATTEND!

If you have any questions, please email refs@syossetsoccer.org.

I am looking forward to another great season.

Sincerely,

SYOSSET SOCCER CLUB
