Tots Intramural Program

Tots/U4 Intramural Program Overview

The Syosset Soccer Club (SSC) offers soccer training to boys and girls under 4 years old. These sessions are run by the New York Red Bulls Training Academy with assistance from parent coaches and the club’s professional traning staff. This program will be offered in the combined Fall and Spring seasons. You may, however, opt to participate only in the Spring season of any given year. We use the Syosset School District's grade cutoffs, but will keep players with their grades where possible. Please refer to our Program Details page if you are unsure if your child is eligible for this program. A copy of your child’s birth certificate will be required to complete the registration process for all new registrants.

The program is co-ed and designed to serve as an introduction to the sport in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Children will be grouped together via request or by schools where possible. Each team will share a practice field with one of the other teams within the age group. All sessions are on Saturdays using a three-timeslot, rotating, schedule each week. So your session time will change from week to week, depending upon what team your child is placed. The timeslots will be approximately 45 minutes to an hour in length. No other sessions or practices are necessary since they are not playing games at this age.

We will be running drills specifically designed to work on the development of their skills in ball handling, kicking, passing and receiving. These drills are both motivational and fun and help get the children ready for our Pre-k division, where they will expand on the skills they have learned. Each child must wear soccer cleats and shin-guards, and bring a size three (3) soccer ball to every session (a water bottle is recommended as well).

To register on-line, please use this link. If you elect to participate in the Spring season only, please do not register until the Spring Registration period begins, which becomes available in the late fall/early winter.
